[Referee]: (see the map of the village, you're in the circled hut)
[Referee]: the body under the pile of rags moves...
** Valennor investigates **
[Bartley]: bad idea...
[Referee]: "Stop poking me you insensitive clod", says the voice under the blankets
** Thared pokes his head out **
** Valennor address Thared and introduces himself **
[Referee]: The young man appearing from under the blanket looked normal enough
[Thared]: "Well how did you guys get in here? I thought they were only holding one sacrifice tonight"
[Narwick]: ..........oh no
** Narwick starts to weep **
** Bartley has a bad feeling about this. **
** Valennor states that the ritualists will be the sacrifices tonight **
** Thared feels talkative **
[Thared]: "So where are you all from?"
[Valennor]: I must have inspired him
[Narwick]: i am from a fairy tale
[Narwick]: no actually we are from Thelic!
[Bartley]: "From hero business... super duper super secret stuff"
[Valennor]: we are here to end evil pirates reign
[Valennor]: oops
[Valennor]: should I have told him?
[Bartley]: yep
[Thared]: Well the pirates... Koltakans actually, don't reign much but a bunch of islands
[Narwick]: they won't reign nothin when were thru
** Valennor asks how he got here and explains their defeat **
[Bartley]: "So they're the ones having the sacrifice?"
[Thared]: They do get annoying when they need sacrifices... tend to start raiding the coast...
[Thared]: That's how I got here... minding my own business up in Podana when they attacked
[Bartley]: (are we looking for someone in Podana?)
[Referee]: (No Podana is where you left Elissa with her uncle)
[Narwick]: are you ready to be sacrificed, son?
** Valennor expresses pity **
[Valennor]: we could use him as a cover...
** Valennor assures that the Goblin Mage is the target here **
[Thared]: "what do you know about goblins?" he asked sharply
** Valennor tells of the electrifying experience **
[Thared]: "Well, it's just a rumor," he whispered, "but they say the goblins are behind all the trouble."
** Narwick asks Thared if he knows Elissa **
[Thared]: "Elissa huh? can't say I do."
[Valennor]: "We were chasing down ritualistic raiders who raided a friend's castle."
[Narwick]: oh... cuz thats where we came from was Podana
[Thared]: "Yeah, they do go on about sacrificing to Zaltec..."
[Valennor]: "Sickos."
[Thared]: "Always yammering about the 'Eater of Hearts'"
[Bartley]: Oh uh!
** Valennor recalls the hearts on spits to summon the gargoyle **
[Thared]: "It makes my chest almost ache"
** Bartley unfortunately also remembers.. **
[Thared]: "sorry for the black humor, the cage has gotten me down"
** Valennor examines the bars and tries to find a lock to pick **
[Bartley]: ok, so.... time to break out.
[Referee]: Eventually you notice that the sun is beginning to set
[Bartley]: bad news.
** Valennor finds the lack of personal items a nuisance **
** Bartley asks Narwick about the bell... **
[Narwick]: what bell?
[Valennor]: is there a lock to pick?
[Referee]: yes the cage has a lock
[Valennor]: THE BELL WRAITH BELL!
[Bartley]: no more wraith?
[Narwick]: i don't know, did they take our stuff?
[Valennor]: I can pick it!
** Valennor tries to pick the lock **
[Referee]: the lock clicks open
[Bartley]: I can send a stone missile through the door if that doesn't work.
[Bartley]: neva mind
[Valennor]: YES!
** Valennor looks around outside the cage **
[Referee]: you can see some sailors tending the boats at the shore
[Valennor]: any sign of our stuff?
[Referee]: Hmm, they took your stuff
[Narwick]: darnit
[Narwick]: lets look for it
[Bartley]: time to get stuff back
[Valennor]: do I see it around?
** Narwick looks for his stuff **
[Referee]: where are you going to look?
[Referee]: circle it on the map (use the white board tab)
[Valennor]: in this building
[Bartley]: We could ask...
[Referee]: (Well okay.. vision rolls please)
[Valennor]: that was a crude drawing I know, but I mean the house
[Referee]: Okay.. you can see the house is completely empty except for a ceremonial knife
[Valennor]: woah, ok
** Valennor uses stealth to sneak to the house on the right **
[Referee]: across the fields?
[Narwick]: yeah
[Valennor]: yeah, keeping low
** Valennor looks around for people as he crosses **
[Referee]: It looks like everyone is eating supper.
[Referee]: cause nobody is outside except for the few at the boat
[Valennor]: hmmmm
[Referee]: There are tomatoes growing in the fields though
[Narwick]: oooooooooooh
[Referee]: Inside the house you see a couple eating at rough wood table
[Valennor]: is there a goblin in there?
[Bartley]: of course not...
[Referee]: no... just two people... a man and a woman
[Bartley]: that would be too easy
[Referee]: you hear the man talking...
[Man]: "I have to leave this evening" he said
[Man]: the boss said we need to head back to the mainland
[Man]: something about an assassination
[Man]: Nureg said there was a lady back from the north... a witch or something
[Man]: he said she wiped out our mages in the last attack... even the goblins
[Man]: I guess that's who we'll be going after...
[Man]: "these fried potatoes are real good..."
** Valennor uses stealth to get inside and close to them to catch and interrogate them **
[Narwick]: i back him up
[Bartley]: I'll guard the door
[Referee]: Valennor slips inside and surprises the woman
[Referee]: the man apparently went into the kitchen to get more food
** Valennor asks them directly what they know about themselves and the goblins **
[Valennor]: I mean ourselves
** Woman screams **
** Valennor silences her and warns the husband of her harm if he makes trouble **
[The Woman]: who are you barging into my house
** Narwick clotheslines the man as he runs through the door **
[Referee]: the man charges in and is knocked flat
** Valennor informs them that we are the new prisoners and where our supplies would be and any helpful information or else! **
[The woman]: Prisoners? I don't know about any...
[Narwick]: ah yeah
[Bartley]: Never heard about the sacrifice? Bartley asks from the doorway
[The woman]: We do sacrifices every once in a while... it pleases Zaltec
[Narwick]: screw Zaltec
[The woman]: "There is one man who is going to be sacrificed tomorrow"
[The woman]: "That will make sure our crops grow"
[Bartley]: 'Zaltec is no more... I killed him..."
[Valennor]: "We met him, and he is probably free."
[Narwick]: what that we killed him?
[The woman]: Blasphemers... you can't kill the god of death
[Narwick]: he just did
[Bartley]: I just did.
[Bartley]: Besides, you can if you're a god yourself
[The woman]: Who are you anyways... your accents sound like foreigners
[Narwick]: we are the bringers of death to the gods of death
[Narwick]: and such
[Valennor]: "We are, and we have come for the Mage, where is he?"
** The woman faints **
[Valennor]: LOL
[Bartley]: Yes!
[Narwick]: Dumb lady
** Valennor interrogates husband same thing **
[Bartley]: Husband! I killed the god of death! Now you will tell us what you know!
[The man]: "You won't find out anything from me! Driago is more powerful than you are and he'll take you out!"
[Narwick]: oh yeah!!!!
[Valennor]: "Where is he?!"
[Narwick]: is driago a god?
[Bartley]: You think we can't handle a bitty little goblin?
[Narwick]: cuz if not then he is not more powerful than moi
[The man]: "Are you nuts? That goblin might be powerful but he's nothing to a god!"
[Valennor]: "You speak nonsense, I should punish you!"
[Narwick]: like I said... I am a god and you will obey me or suffer
[Valennor]: "Where does the Goblin Mage reside?!"
[The man]: if you're looking for Driago... you'll find him in the jungle hut
[Bartley]: Excellent, that wasn't so hard was it?
[Narwick]: where is our stuff?
[Valennor]: "Yes, where would they put our things?"
[Narwick]: where is the keep?
[The man]: what are you talking about?
[Bartley]: Even gods are sloppy with their stuff sometimes
[Valennor]: "I'm warning you!"
[The man]: Did you look in the armory?
[Narwick]: where is it?
[Valennor]: "Umm, no...."
** Valennor feels dumb **
[The man]: right next to the prison... on the left
[Valennor]: "Thank you my good fellow, you will sleep for a while now."
** The woman screams **
[Bartley]: thank you, you've been very helpful. And thank the fainted one when she awakes.
[Narwick]: why thank you... I like you... when total domination is mine your death will be quick and painless
** Valennor tells Bartley to put him to sleep **
[Valennor]: "Put theim both out for a while."
[Valennor]: we leave, when they are asleep, for the armory
[Referee]: okay... now you're off to the other hut
[Referee]: you notice Thared following behind
[Narwick]: right
** Narwick tells Thared to stay close and be silent **
** Valennor comes close and checks around **
[Referee]: You see a guard sleeping inside the armory hut
[Referee]: and a pile of stuff on a table
[Valennor]: that's it!
[Bartley]: my stuff!
[Bartley]: I oughta set 'im on fire!
[Bartley]: that's the hot spot...
[Bartley]: Pirates!
[Bartley]: Scallywags!
** Valennor uses stealth to get close and punch him hard in the face **
[Valennor]: we will pound the lights out of him!
[Bartley]: me too!
[Valennor]: "One hit each," Valennor whispers
[Referee]: so you run around to the door... bust in
[Valennor]: STEALTH!!!!!!
[Referee]: ... and smack the guy in the face
[Bartley]: Yelling!
[Bartley]: Judoing!
[Referee]: Bartley slams the guy on the floor with a stunning judo move
[Valennor]: (do we get our stuff back?)
[Bartley]: I'm not finished yet!
** Valennor ties up the man with his own breeches and gags him with his shirt **
[Thared]: You guys are pretty tough.
[Valennor]: "Thank you"
** Narwick asks Thared if he knows how to use a sword **
[Thared]: Not really, I'm a cleric by trade...
[Thared]: I know a few spells and such... but I'm best with a staff
[Narwick]: well... here any way
** Narwick hands him a short sword **
[Bartley]: then pray for us... for we have blasphemed.
[Thared]: well, thanks
[Narwick]: if you can find a staff do so
[Valennor]: "Our quest is to kill the Mage, but you are free to go..."
** Thared looks around on the shelves **
** Valennor searches too **
** Narwick looks for stuff too **
[Referee]: You find a short sword, small shield, a Axe, and leather armor
** Valennor takes the shield **
