The Illenda are unique among the kindred races in that they developed their knowledge of magic very early on. As a result the race in general has a great respect for nature as the source of magic and tends to prefer to adapt to their environment instead of trying to domesticate it. When they settle, they tend to do so in small groups so the impact on the area is lessened.
Despite their attitude toward nature (or maybe because of it), individualism runs strong in Illend blood. They don't get along well in large groups, whether of Illenda or other kindred races. The result is that the Illenda have yet to organize anything more than a loose coalition of tribes.
Note: the player would not be wrong to notice a strong similarity between the Illenda and Elves from other universes.
