I hope everyone has been able to read the first one! As you'll notice it has three sections. This commentary part, the meeting and news part, and a section called "Lore" which will have bits of information about various things in the game. We had a fun time on Sunday - too bad Dom couldn't be there, but he was too busy having fun in NYC. So how often do you guys want to try to get together? Do you want to try a regular meeting (like every week). Maybe every other week? E-mail me and let me know. ______________________________________________________________________ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Next time we meet... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When: Sunday, August 19, or 27? Time: Afternoon? Where: ? News ~~~~ I've update the web page with Sam's character's info. I'm going to try to get the pictures up there along with the info - but I lost the pictures for Sam and Ivan's characters. ______________________________________________________________________ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Lore ~~~~ * Cities, Towns, and Villages * Most of Thelic's people live in the villages dotting the country side. Many of these are farming communities but some on the coast do more fishing than farming. Normally a village will have up to a hundred families living in houses built around the center of the village. Thelic has been peaceful for the past few hundred years so only the villages furthest north are walled. Towns are generally larger and are often walled. Thelic has three towns: Erinville in the north that is walled, Danview Forge, also walled, that has a thriving fishing industry, and Ludanston which is further south and that controls a number of mines in the cliffs along the bay - it is walled too. Ristonn and Vetten are the only two cities, both are walled and sit at major trade route intersections and so are always busy. Ristonn also serves as the capitol for King Theidus. Vetten contols much of the flow of produce from the large southern farms, giving it a strong place of power in the country. Maintaining these towns and cities is not cheap and they will charge most people a 2 silver dollar entry tax as you go through the gate. Merchant caravans are usually charged a flat fee of 1 gold sovereign. Government officials and soldiers in the army are usually exempt from paying these entry taxes. Taxes are also collected every three months for those who live in the city and are determined by the quality and size of your residence. ______________________________________________________________________ ======================================================================
